Social Value Statement
Atlantic Cedar is a female-led SME which is committed to delivering social value through acting in a sustainable way to limit our impact on the environment, keeping our team members and the broader community safe, supporting and developing our employees, and actively engaging and supporting our local communities to create positive impact.
This social value statement has been developed to demonstrate our commitment in these areas and has been devised in line with the themes set out in PPN 06/20.
Wellbeing
We take improving the health and wellbeing of our employees, customers, and the broader community in which we operate as a top priority:
- We maintain a formal health and safety policy.
- We provide regular and relevant health and safety training for our employees.
- We provide time for employees to support their own mental health and wellbeing.
- We provide dedicated training programmes to organisations that promote psychological safety within the workplace
- We support our colleagues throughout all stages of their career and development
- We are committed to the personal development of our team members
- We regularly provide training and development for each of our team members.
Tackling Economic Inequality
We aim to support our local supply chain and SMES, create new jobs and develop new skills
- We aim to inspire and nurture the next generation of talent
- We support our local supply chain and small business enterprises
- We actively participate in the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce.
- We maximise the use of local suppliers wherever possible to support the local economy and limit the carbon footprint associated with our activities.
- We will continue our track record developing and re-skilling people within the local community
- We will continue to engage and support charities and social enterprises through direct support and fundraising.
Fighting Climate Change
We are committed to limiting and mitigating our organisation’s impact on the environment including working towards net zero greenhouse gas emissions within our internal operations and engagements.
- Our employees are home-based and engage in limited work-related travel.
- We use 100% renewable energy across all our employee’s home locations.
- We aim to limit our use of potable water.
- As a management consultancy, without a physical supply chain, the business has a limited waste footprint.
- As part of our waste management policy, we adopt the standard ‘Reduce – Reuse – Recycle’ prioritisation approach across the business.
Equality
We are committed to supporting a diverse workforce, championing equality and diversity in all areas of our day-to-day operations, and eliminating modern slavery.
- We have a strong focus on fostering a culture of inclusion and respect within our organisation and within the broader communities in which we operate
- We are committed to Diversity and Inclusion.We are a female-led organisation with >50% of the team being female, team members within the LGBTQIA+ community, and one of our team members has volunteered for multiple years as a judge on the national BQF Diversity and Equality awards, for which HRH the Princess Royal is a patron.
- We acknowledge our responsibilities in relation to tackling modern slavery and commit to complying with the provisions in the Modern Slavery Act 2015, and maintain a modern slavery statement on an annual basis.
COVID-19 Recovery
We will support, where possible, helping local communities to manage and recover from the impact of COVID-19
- We aim to create employment, re-training and other return to work opportunities available for those left unemployed by COVID-19.
- We will continue to support charities and social enterprises that are managing and recovering from direct and indirect impacts of COVID-19 and those that provide services to the public that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19.
